UC-CEA Students Stood Out at Baguio City Digital Arts Contest

Eastern Communication announced the winners for the Baguio City Digital Arts Contest with the theme, “Philippines: A Connected Nation”, last November 20, 2024.

Noel Ladringan, a fine arts student, was declared the grand prize winner for the competition with his work showcasing the resilience of Filipino families during the pandemic, that despite the boundaries and challenges, they were able to foster relationship and connection through digital communication. He was given Php20,000,00 and a Wacom Tablet as prize.

Christine Mallari, a computer engineering student, was among the winners of Eastern Choice Awards, where she received Php5,000.00 as a prize. Her work shows how digital connection influences the life of an individual, from family to friends and towards reaching their dream.

Other students from different departments were also declared as winners. Awarding is on November 28, 2024 at Canto Restaurant, Baguio City. Congratulations to all the winners, you made your colleges proud.

Aligned with the United Nations Sustainable Development Goals (UN SDGs), the recognition of CEA students at the Baguio City Digital Arts Contest supports SDG 4 (Quality Education) by showcasing the university’s dedication to nurturing creative, digital, and communication skills that prepare students for the demands of a technology-driven society. It advances SDG 9 (Industry, Innovation, and Infrastructure) through the promotion of digital innovation and the creative use of information and communication technologies that strengthen digital connectivity and infrastructure. The event also contributes to SDG 8 (Decent Work and Economic Growth) by emphasizing how the digital and creative industries can generate meaningful economic opportunities and professional growth for young artists. Lastly, it upholds SDG 17 (Partnerships for the Goals) through the collaboration between Eastern Communications and academic institutions, demonstrating how public-private partnerships can empower students and advance creativity, innovation, and digital inclusion nationwide.
